Letter from the Chief People Officer

Thank you for expressing an interest in the Deputy Chief People Officer role, based at Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, comprising two locations - Chelsea & Westminster and West Middlesex Hospitals.

This is a strategic workforce role, with significant Board exposure.  Working alongside an established Deputy level leadership team, you will help deliver on our people and organisational development agenda, and personally lead on your people portfolio within the Trust, ensuring that it serves the needs of clinical and non-clinical departments across the organisation and works in partnership with our staff and staff representatives.

Bringing energy, insight and a passion for inclusion and reducing inequalities, you will have responsibility for developing and driving a high-performance People & OD service culture whilst also putting in place a range of large-scale initiatives that give our people the best experience in the NHS. Able to assimilate the role rapidly, you will be highly driven, goal and action orientated, have a talent for inspiring and motivating teams, with a track-record of delivery.

You will already have had significant experience of driving strategy and change in a large scale, complex environment within the NHS, working with senior leadership teams and at sub board level, with the ability to establish strong working relationships across systems and inspire your teams to deliver and improve the services we offer to our staff and patients.

You will use this experience to represent us within the North West London Integrated Care System (ICS) and will play an important role in building close links within the newly formed Acute Care Collaborative as we move towards realising our ambitions around the workforce for North West London – both now and in the future.

I have been in post nearly two years, and have experienced first-hand the passion of the staff here at the Trust.  I also know that to find the right leader in this role I will need to seek applications from high quality people whose backgrounds, experiences and identities broaden and enhance the diversity of our existing staff.

If, after reading this candidate briefing, you think this describes you, please do not hesitate to contact Pete Marshall (07930 153 672, pete@mlcpartners.co.uk) or Richard Knudsen (07377 875 417, richard@mlcpartners.co.uk

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Sue Smith
