Regulatory Supervision Manager

The Regulatory Supervision Managers stand at the centre of the CLC's high performing and collaborative organisation. They work closely with the varied businesses that the CLC regulate to maintain the high standards for which they are known.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, you will join a close-knit team of specialists each of whom is responsible for delivering the CLC’s monitoring & inspection program, offering support, analysis and challenge to the regulated community. Where necessary, you will also be taking direct regulation action and preparing disciplinary cases for adjudication by an independent panel.

These are important roles at the heart of the CLC, shaping the delivery, direction and future of the work at a key point in their journey. The CLC regulates over 200 legal practices across the UK to protect consumers and foster competition and innovation in the provision of legal services. They take a collaborative and relationship-based approach to regulation, built on close engagement with the firms they regulate.
Person Specification

To be successful in this role you need to have strong critical thinking, a thorough approach and ability to build long-lasting relationships. The role requires someone who is excited to learn, has good communication skills, and the ability to deliver sometimes difficult information appropriately.

Building on your legal / regulatory / compliance background you will also need strong emotional intelligence to effectively engage, challenge, negotiate and influence legal practices and colleagues. This is a small team so there is plenty of opportunity to shine while still demonstrating a collaborative, agile approach.
