Thank you for your interest in Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC).

 

This is an important campaign and we are excited by the opportunity to bring in new talent to our cohesive and high delivering team.

​

The CLC is the regulator of specialist property lawyers. Our mission is to deliver effective regulation of specialist property lawyers that protects consumers and fosters competition and innovation in the provision of legal services. We do so by setting entry standards and regulating providers to deliver high quality, accessible legal services.

 

We work hard to ensure that our tailored approach to regulation fosters innovation in the delivery of legal services. The CLC’s approach to regulation is one of building relationships with our practices so that we can support firms in achieving compliance before we resort to enforcement action. We monitor the performance of our regulated community closely and take swift action where necessary to protect consumers.

 

The CLC adopted a new 5 year strategy in 2018 with ambitious goals to exploit the benefits of specialist regulation. The organisations objectives for 2019/20 are focused on delivering this strategy and are expected to result in exciting change and development.

We are a small closely-knit team and sharing knowledge and expertise across functional teams is encouraged and expected. We encourage innovation and welcome initiatives to change and develop the organisation for the benefit of consumers and the practices that we regulate.
