An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an outstanding finance leader to join the recently created South East London CCG Commissioning Alliance.  This is an exciting and critical period for six London CCGs (Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark) who have chosen to work collaboratively, in order to maximise health and care outcomes for 1.7 million local people in the South East of the capital, whilst ensuring maximum value is derived from the £2.4 billion health commissioning budget across the system.

 

The Chief Financial Officer will have overall financial accountability for five CCGs (Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lewisham and Southwark) and report to an ambitious and highly capable Accountable Officer and Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP) Lead.  As CFO you will perform the role of Deputy Accountable Officer for those CCGs and will be a voting member of the CCGs’ Governing Bodies.  As CFO, you  will manage two Directors of Finance which have responsibility for the Financial Management of the five CCGs, and a Director of Financial Strategy who operates across all six CCGs and the wider Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP) organisations in south east London.  Each of those directors are supported by finance teams located in each borough, in addition to a small STP strategic finance team.

 

This is a strategic leadership role, where the successful candidate will lead the development of a financial framework and approach that enables the individual CCGs to deliver sustainable and improved care for their local population, whilst ensuring consistency and innovation across the wider south east London system.  You will also be required to forge strong relationships across south east London with relevant leaders within the system.  You will work closely with the CCG Managing Directors and wider Executive team to ensure that outcomes can be maximised within the available resources.

 

The successful candidate will have a strong background of financial leadership, having operated at a senior level in large and complex health systems and organisations, through which they have developed advanced financial and commercial capabilities and delivered significant change.  You should also have the political sensitivity to build effective relationships with a broad range of senior stakeholders, and a tenacity to drive forward change in a complex environment.

 

You will be an individual of the highest integrity and ethical standards, and a full member of an appropriate professional accountancy institute who will embrace the values of working with a group of organisations striving to be the best Commissioning Alliance in the country.
